dr inż. Katarzyna Musiał-Gabryś

University of Technology Sydney (Australia)

My main research areas include complex network systems and the analysis of their dynamics and evolution, as well as predictive and adaptive modelling of network systems. I am also fascinated by control mechanisms in complex networks and spreading mechanisms in complex systems. Another area of my research interest is automated machine learning with an emphasis on adaptive mechanisms. I was awarded my doctoral degree in computer science in November 2009 at the Wrocław University of Technology, and in the same year, I was appointed Senior Visiting Research Fellow at Bournemouth University (BU), where from 2010, I was a lecturer in computer science. I started working at King’s College London in November 2011 as a lecturer in computer science. In September 2015, I returned to Bournemouth University as an associate professor in computer science, where I was also the head of the SMART Technology Research Group and a member of the Data Science Initiative. In September 2017, I joined UTS as an associate professor of network sciences, and in 2021, I was awarded the title of professor. I currently also hold the position of Director of Research Programmes at the School of Engineering and Computer Science. Together with Prof. Gabryś, I founded and am currently co-director of the Complex Adaptive Systems Laboratory at the Data Science Institute.
